I so agree with you that international institutions have the potential to affect change in the world and that more could be done by governments.

While there’s so much more potential, I would say that in some ways, international treaties are already more effective than we think… after all, governments generally don’t argue that human rights don’t exist, they just argue that they’re not violating them.

Even though that’s not enough, it’s at least a step up from most of human history when the idea of universal human rights seemed ludicrous.

So, let’s hope this upward trend continues. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts with me!
