Yes, great point about the complications with the Platinum Rule! You’re right… people don’t always know how they want to be treated or might be hesitant telling others about it.

How I generally approach that challenge is like you said, taking people’s word at face value. After all, they’re adults and responsible for their lives. :)

I might still disappoint them but in that case, it’s on them.
