That's a super-interesting article, Blair! Being a German who lives in the US, I have at times wondered why what's arguably the world's most popular team sport isn't more popular in the US.

I've also wondered why Americans seem to like sports with complicated that require a lot of equipment (soccer is so much more straightforward than American football).

You make some really thought-provoking points in this article. I hadn't thought about how soccer players can be pretty much any height/weight (as long as they're fit), while American football or Basketball is much more exclusive.

I also wasn't aware that football is more individualistic than soccer or that there are fewer advertising opportunities. In other words, I learned something new from your article. Thanks!
