This is a great comparison and made me laugh: “Frodo facing Sauron vs Luke facing Vader.” I had never thought about it that way before so thanks for sharing it!

And… since you brought up that metaphor: so either your antagonist is redeemable (Luke vs. Vader) OR you will win in the end (Frodo vs. Sauron)? 🙂

That’s actually a pretty decent position to be in, I would say!

(I’m saying this in a joking way but I’m also serious about the hopefulness that can come from the LOTR ending. The Fellowship did win and in times of crisis, it’s important to retain a sense of hope.)
